December 12, 2007

Low sixties and sunny today. It's heavy traffic season for the post office. Do people leave gifts for their postal carrier anymore? That is a question that has a lot to do with the weather because there isn't anybody that has to deal with the weather more than a postal carrier. Weathermen, truck drivers, cops, construction workers, and zookeepers probably deal a bit as well but they aren't bringing me my copies of Oprah and New Mexico Magazine.

... in other L.A. news -- the whole bean, and nothing but the bean.

As the clash between the forces of Creativity and Creative Darkness continues, the human drive to "wowzer" keeps popping up in unlikely places.

Like Harold's Subs on Wilshire, where, just yesterday, Harold Iggies announced the launch of a new, whole-bean sandwich -- "a submarine that's guaranteed to give diners more torpedoes for their dollar."
